UFL 2012 Preview: 12 burning questions


The United Football League begins a new era, with the league competitions being aired on live television for the first time. We asked our football experts Josue Jamlang and Ryan Fenix to answer 12 burning questions to preview the tournament.
Wait, there are no playoffs? How will that be exciting?

Josue Jamlang: There are also no regular season games where teams can take days off. Every game counts, every point matters and every goal scored and conceded is important. There may be no knockout factor, but the significance of every match is that of a massive playoff game, especially when two title contenders are facing off.

The league structure ensures that regardless of opposition, clubs will need to compete at the best of their abilities at all times. Also, unlike in a playoff structure where certain teams can get a favorable bracket en route to the finals, a league format ensures that the circumstances overcome by the champion are almost exactly the same challenges imposed on all the rest.
